AVHTM Master Series: Veterinary Blood Banking Basics and Beyond
This two-day, intensive lecture series and workshops is designed to accommodate all levels of veterinary blood bankers, though it is specifically geared towards the novice blood banker. Attendees will participate in hands-on live canine and feline donor collection and blood processing procedures, fractionating blood into various components. Topics covered in lecture and wet labs will include canine and feline donor selection and screening recommendations, collection techniques, component processing procedures and various blood typing and crossmatching techniques. Blood product administration and transfusion medicine reviews will round off this education packed weekend. Advanced classes from leaders in the industry will enhance the Master Series and create a well-rounded event for everyone.
Start / End times
Be ready to meet at HemoSolutions by 7:45 am on Saturday, August 16 and plan to stay until 6:00 pm. On Sunday, August 17, the day will begin at 8:00 am and end at 4:00 pm.
Meals
Both breakfast and lunch will be served; dinner will be on your own. You will be able to inform us of any dietary restrictions and food allergies on the registration form.
Accessibility
If you have mobility issues, please let us know on the registration form. The lectures and wet lab are located down a flight of stairs.
Parking
There is plenty of parking at HemoSolutions if you drive or rent a vehicle. Otherwise, you can Uber, Lyft, or take a taxi.
Airports
Colorado Springs Airport (COS) is the closest airport to HemoSolutions. Denver International Airport (DIA) is also an option; however, the cost to get from DIA to Colorado Springs may offset the cost of flying directly into Colorado Springs. We recommend you research prices, transfer times, and travel options that best suit your budget.
MASTER SERIES COST: $1,750.00
Cancellation and Refund Policy: A registrant may cancel up to thirty (30) days prior to the start of this class (July 15). There will be a $100 cancellation fee if cancelled before July 15. After July 15, there will be no refunds. No-shows will not be refunded for any reason nor will your fees be applied to a future Master Class. If you need to cancel, please email us at info@avhtm.org.
